Johann Sebastian
Bach, (1685–1750) This composer of baroque music composed church music, masses,
cantatas as well as clavier music for the keyboard, ensemble
sonatas, fugues, and concertos for various instruments. We see Bach
as a short stout gentleman in his work or concert
attire. |
 |
Wolfgang Amadeus
Mozart, (1756–1791) Mozart, writing music in the Classical Style, composed sonatas,
symphonies, and solo repertoire. His symphonies were quite
flamboyant. He wore wigs of various styles along with brightly
colored clothing. Most portraits glamorize him, but we found some
that did not. He had quite a nose with a slight hook. |
 |
Ludwig van
Beethoven, (1770–1827) A composer who teeters between the classical period and the
romantic composed nine symphonies, chamber music, church music,
solo works and concertos. Most artists captured his angry
side and as an older man. We found portraits of him as a younger
pleasant-looking man before his deafness occurred. |
 |
Johannes Brahms,
(1833–1897) A man with blonde hair and blue eyes, Brahms was of the romantic
era, writing symphonies, choral works, lieder for voice, chamber
music, concertos, and piano music. |
